Intro to Intermediate Workshop

Date: Sunday March 25th, 2012

Time: 1-4pm

Registration Required-

Cost: $40 if registered by March 1st.  $50 after March 1st.

While Primary series is described as Yoga Chikitsa,or Yoga Therapy for the body, this series is described as Nadi Shordana, or Nerve Cleansing of the body, due to the focus on backward-bending asanas.

This workshop will include a discussion of the intermediate series, asana (posture) practice and Q & A session. We will explore the next series of postures using the primary series as a jumping off point.  Emphasis on how to work into these postures safely will be discussed. 

 

**This workshop is open to all who have a consistent Ashtanga practice and are currently working in the half primary or mysore classes. If you are not sure whether this workshop is right for you please contact me at alshaneson@gmail.com.




Intro to Ashtanga 5 week series
Date: Sunday January 22nd- February 19th

This course will introduce students to the basic philosophy and principles of Ashtanga.  Designed for beginners to help them experience the many benefits of yoga in a safe manner, while learning the basics of Ashtanga yoga. Elements of ujayi breath, bandhas (internal energy locks), drishti (gazing points), Surya Namaskar (sun salutes) and vinyasa (linking movement) will be the emphasis in this class.  Each new lesson will build on what was learned the previous week helping to commit the postures to memory.  No experience is required. This class is open to complete beginners.

Registration required by January 8th.  
Cost: $65 for the 5 week course and includes Monday nights basics class w/Danielle at 7pm.  Come to as many Mondays as you like between January 22nd and February 19th.
